The agency has announced plans to remove misleading black box warnings from hormone replacement therapy (HRT) products—warnings that have long fueled confusion and fear among patients and providers. Experts emphasize that for most healthy women, especially those who begin HRT around the time of menopause, the therapy is both safe and effective for relieving symptoms.
